Hyundai Mobis is expected to experience upheavals. Once Hyundai Motor gets a final approval for the merger with Glovis at the Mobis General Shareholders` Meeting on May 29, it will become the top company of Hyundai Motor Group. Mobis is expected to divide its module and AS parts business into M & A with Hyundai Glovis, and switch to a parent company that focuses on future core parts business, R & D and investment projects such as autonomous vehicle sensor and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). It changed its sign from Hyundai Precision to Hyundai Mobis for only 18 years in 2000.

On May 16, it searched for Mobis` strategic point of future car parts business and self-driving test center of Seosan in Chungnam Province.

The vehicle on the road inside the test room moved through the strong winds and raindrops without a break. Chung Mong-koo, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, has been writing about "trust management", "on-site management" and "transparent management".

The company is planned to start mass production of radar independently developed from next year, and to develop all autonomous sensors including cameras and riders until 2020.

German SMS, and ASTYX, and the development of five radars for autonomous navigation vehicles in the year ended, and it is expected to start mass production in 2021. Especially, Hyundai Mobis is the first to mass-produce technology that recognizes 360-degree space outside the vehicle by combining four high-resolution side radars utilizing the 79 GHz frequency.

The company built a sensor test road in Seosan Driving Test Site and operated it from June last year in order to secure the sensor performance and quality. According to market researcher Strategy Analytics, the autonomic sensor market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 23% from USD 7.4 billion in 2016 to USD 20.8 billion by 2021.

The company plans to utilize new artificial intelligence (AI) Deep Learning technology for sensor quantum jump. The company expects to achieve sales of about KRW 5 trillion in the future car parts business such as autonomous driving and connected car technology this year. It will increase to KRW 11 trillion by 2.2 times in 2025 and it will account for 25% of total sales (KRW 44 trillion).

The quenching for this was already in full swing at Seosan test site. The company`s autonomous drive `M.Billy` is on the road. In the test road where the public roads were reproduced, M. Billy was building data to communicate with infrastructures such as cars and traffic lights, and cope with various unexpected situations. There is currently one running, and the cumulative mileage is 7,158 km. The road to the test site is 5.5 kilometers. Therefore, it turns 1300 lanes. It plans to increase the number of embiles to 10 by the end of this year. The price of tea is currently KRW 2 billion ~ 3 billion.

Head lamp research work is on the way as a tunnel test. The company explained that it is the world`s largest tunnel with a length of 250m and a width of 30m. He walked 250 meters to the opposite side of the entrance. In the case of dark, unseen situation, a vehicle halfway through the test light hung upwards at us. Its eyes are broken. When the researcher shone a small flashlight in his hand toward the vehicle, the glare disappeared. Without glare, the surroundings became bright. The researcher explained that M. Billy recognized the vehicle ahead and some of the headlamps. This technology is already commercializing German luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Hyundai Mobis is also expected to commercialize the technology and apply it to the Genesis.

Meanwhile, the most important thing in a car is so called `braking`. It went to the autonomous driving week experimental hall. The Santa Fe flew over the ever-stretched asphalt road and passed through seven zigzag-shaped cones erected on the road. Within a short time, I changed direction by turning suddenly on a virtual road made of cones. It is an elk test. Elk stands for a wild deer, which refers to a situation where the elk is encountered on the road. The water spewed from the floor and headed for a slippery test road. It is the place to test the autonomous vehicle braking performance. The road surface is ceramic tile. It is very slippery because it sprinkles to the water. The car, which was running at 50 km / h, was suddenly stopped. If it was a regular car, it would have stopped after turning a few laps, but the car stopped.

The firm stated, "We will develop autonomous proprietary sensors by 2020 and lead the global autonomous mobile parts market."
