The US-Korea summit will be held in the United States mid-next month. President Mun Jae-in and US President Donald Trump agreed to call shortly after the end of the inter-Korean summit.
Yoon Young-chan, the chief of the National Security Council, stated in a briefing on April 25, "National Security Advisor Yim Yong-jin and National Security Adviser John Bolton of the United States met in the United States on April 24."
According to Yun, Chung and Bolton have met for about an hour to coordinate the preparations for the inter-Korean summit talks and the two countries` plans to achieve the goal of denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. They also discussed the situation after the inter-Korean summit and the schedule of the Han Mi-jeong event. The Korean government has been pushing for a US-Korea summit meeting between the South-North summit and the US-North Korean summit. The two leaders seem to share the results of the inter-Korean summit talks at the Han Mi-jeong summit meeting, and shape the road map for the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. It is expected that discussions related to the declaration of the end of the war or the peace agreement will be made as the US is a party.
It is analyzed that President Kim`s intention to take part in the process of narrowing the gap between North Korea and the US before the US-North Korea summit is reflected in the promotion of the Han Mi-jeong summit. In a meeting with representatives of media outlets, President Moon said, "We must narrow the gap between the middle and the North and try to find a practical way for both sides to accommodate each other."
Meanwhile, president Moon has a conceptual roadmap for a peace treaty leading to inter-Korean summits, inter-Korean summits, and inter-Korean summits. It is a roadmap to draw up the declaration of the end of the inter-Korean summit, to conclude a denuclearization agreement through the US-North Korea summit, and to conclude a peace treaty to end the existing power system by gathering leaders of the three countries.
However, it is said that he did not discuss the summit talks that President Moon mentioned during the meeting.
A senior representative of the Cheong Wa Dae said, "It is not easy in a timely fashion for the possibility that Seo Hoon, chief information officer, will come to North Korea with the result of the meeting of Chung and Bolton. North Korea and the counterpart Seo Jang, who did not plan to visit Pyongyang, delayed the talks and the center of gravity of the South Korean government seems to be more focused on the US-North Korea summit. There are also observations that there will be substantial coordination between the two Koreas.
