It is being watched how the so-called "map of the Korean Peninsula New Economy" will be formed with the resumption of inter-Korean economic cooperation with the inter-Korean summit meeting.

If it leads to specific achievements such as the construction of the second Kaesong Industrial Complex near the cease-fire line or the construction of a new economic cooperation industrial complex in the border area of North China in the process of enlargement of economic cooperation based on denuclearization, the Korean peninsula could become a world economic center.

According to the government and the industry related to inter-Korean economic cooperation on April 23, the government announces a new form of inter-Korean economic cooperation as soon as possible in June. However, the new inter-Korean economic cooperation measures are interpreted both inside and outside the government, based on the results of the summit talks between North and South Korea.

The government is likely to engage in exchanges in the order of discussing the three issues (communication, transit, and customs clearance) with North Korea and lifting the 5.24 measures, which prohibit comprehensive exchanges.

The map of the Korean Peninsula is based on the Presidential pledge of President Moon Jae-in and the Korean government top 100 national affairs. The new economic map includes: ¡â expansion of Gaeseong Industrial Complex ¡â Haeju ∙ Nampo ∙ Pyongyang ∙ Sinuiju Economic Cooperation Construction ∙ Seohae Kwon Industrial Complex ∙ Logistics ∙ Traffic belt construction ¡â Mt. Kumgang ∙ Wonsan ∙ Majolyông Tour (sightseeing) and Chungjin ∙ Spiral ∙ Hassan Russia • Establishment of `East Sea Energy and Resources Belt` of Far East connection.

Especially, experts say that if the keynote of multilateral economic cooperation is established by the inter-Korean and North-South summit meeting, the government is in the same position as the recent rapid pace of `new north and new south.`

The industry has great expectations for Northeast Asian economic cooperation projects. The Northeast Asian Network (Super Grid ASG), Russia`s Sakhalin Natural Gas Development, and the TKR project on the Korean Peninsula, which connects Korea and Russia`s Mongolia, will be discussed.

Thus, the Northeast Asia regional power network is aimed at the start of the construction of some sections by 2022. President Moon met with Russian President Vladimir Putin last year and asked for cooperation in gas, railway, port and power projects. In the industry, North Korea, which is on its way, is expected to actively pursue Russia`s position.

A business official said, "Expectations for the resumption of inter-Korean economic cooperation are higher than ever before." Among them, the Hyundai Group is in a state of waiting at all times and knows that the government is waiting for the signal. "

Meanwhile, there is still a sense of vigilance that the inter-Korean economic cooperation could fall into the `fuzzy` business of the 2000s. An official from a private research institute said, "We need to fully understand the limitations of the North Korean economic system and gradually recognize them as economic partners," he said. "If North Korea takes economic costs through denuclearization, It is possible that the government will be curtailed as it did in the past."
