The projector industry will launch a series of projectors using `smart technology` such as artificial intelligence (AI) and voice recognition technology.

According to the industry on April 19, projector companies such as Inno IO and Optoma of Taiwan will show projectors equipped with voice recognition function and AI secretary.

Inno Io, a domestic projector company, will launch a projector equipped with a screen recognition function as early as July this year. It is an `interactive` device that can touch the screen or recognize the movement of nearby objects. The company is also considering cooperation with domestic AI speaker companies.

Earlier, the company introduced the smart projector `Smart Beam 3`, which uses a voice recognition function for projector remote control. The `Google Cloud Platform` allow people to recognize their voices, play streaming videos and search for information. Korean and English are supported. We have almost completed the development of Chinese recognition software with local partners aiming to advance into China.

A representative of the company stated, "As a new artificial intelligence emerges as an industry buzzword for a year, we have come up with a voice recognition technology." The company said it will apply speech recognition technology to projectors that will be introduced after the launch of `Smart Beam 3`. We will respond with differentiated technologies against Chinese low-price projectors. A company official said, "By targeting smart devices such as speech recognition and screen recognition projectors, we will be able to increase sales more than double that of last year."

Taiwan-based projector maker Optoma also announced that it will apply AI technology to devices such as 4K projectors to be launched in the second half of this year. "We are considering products that are compatible with AI technologies such as Google Home, Google`s AI speakers, as well as Amazon Alexa," Optoma representative said.

The company plans to launch the AI-supported projector `SUHD66A` (photo), which was unveiled at CES 2018 in Las Vegas in January, at the end of next month. Optoma introduced a home theater projector at CES, which uses Amazon`s artificial intelligence voice secretary technology, `Alexa`. Power on and off the projector, and remote control functions. Currently, Korean language features are not supported. The company said, "If Alexa makes a Korean patch, Optoma plans to take advantage of it." Meanwhile, according to industry, projectors equipped with voice recognition function are being actively launched in China. China`s representative IT company Xiaomi projector, as well as Jimi`s H1S in China, Weijing`s F1 Plus, and Wanbo`s P5, are all equipped with voice recognition functions.
