KT has started a system to shut down employees` in-house systems outside of office hours from the 2nd. Since July, the maximum hourly working hours per court week has been reduced from 68 hours to 52 hours, it seems that mobile operators have been preparing to work 52 hours a week through system maintenance and internal reorganization.

According to the industry on April 3, KT limited access to the in-house system from 2:30 pm to 8:30 am the following day after 6:30 pm. In addition, on the use day of the week including the weekend and the holiday, the company system connection is blocked all the time zone.

The related in-house system includes 5 business related, 3 operational related, and 8 management related systems, and virtually all business systems are included, so they cannot work at the time of block. However, KT decided to allow access for work only at the scheduled time, subject to prior approval. KT said, "We have put in place a culture of commuting on time and let employees concentrate on fixed working hours."

Meanwhile, SK Telecom also launched the `Design Your Work & Time` system, which is an autonomous selection work system. SK Telecom has already announced that it will implement an autonomous selection work system during the first quarter of this year.

The system is designed by employees to design their own working hours within a total of 80 hours every two weeks and input them into the computer in advance. Actual working hours should be re-registered after 2 working weeks. SK Telecom explained that it would be difficult to predict the work schedule if the work plan was set up on a monthly basis, and that it would be implemented every two weeks due to the inconvenience of establishing the plan every week.

Prior to the introduction of this system, SK Telecom held a total of eight members` briefing sessions at SK Telecom`s offices in March. Besides, during the past three months, the company and labor unions have held more than 10 meetings to find specific ways in which selective work arrangements can be settled. In order to take the initiative in this regard, executives and team leaders are conducting work before 7 pm, restricting work at weekends, and restricting e-mail and text sending at night and on holidays.

SK Telecom also plans to introduce Super Fridays from this month to encourage all employees to leave early at 3 pm on the third Friday of each month. A SK Telecom official said, "It is important that the work itself is reduced and that the work method is streamlined." He said, "We have not been able to shorten the working hours by managing the company such as commuting time,

LG U Plus is already preparing to go into the 52 hours using the existing system. Currently, LG U +`s call center and 24-hour monitoring department of communication network are working 8 hours shift. From July, the network division will also expand the number of personnel and plan to keep a full 52 hours of work. An official of LG U Plus said, "We will be able to safeguard legal working hours through existing commuting system and PC off system."
