The US government is now pushing to limit the purchase of foreign telecommunications equipment that threatens national security to target Huawei, ZTE and other Chinese telecom equipment makers.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said on Monday that broadcasters and high-speed Internet service providers threatened national security by using the USD 8.5 billion subsidy program Universal Service Fund (USF) Suggesting ways to prohibit companies from purchasing equipment or providing services.

The ban also included services in some provinces or areas with difficult access to the network, library and school services, and telephone service support programs for low-income consumers. The FCC is expected to vote on Pie`s proposal on April 17.

Mr. Pie pointed out that the hidden back door to enter the US telecommunications equipment network, such as routers and switches, could provide the enemy government with ways of virus penetration, denial of service (DoS) attacks and data theft. The pie chairman did not mention the target countries or companies. However, in a letter sent to Congress on March 23. It is analyzed that Huawei and ZTE are aiming at Huawei, a Chinese smartphone maker.

The proposal comes as a result of legislative initiatives launched last month by the US Senate to prevent the purchase or lease of telecommunications equipment from Huawei or ZTE on the grounds of spyware.

Huawei plans to sell its latest smartphone `Mate 10` directly in the United States earlier this year with AT & T, the second largest mobile carrier in the US, but the plan has been scrapped by the US government, which raised concerns about national security. In addition, Huawei has been rejected by Verizon, the largest mobile operator at the end of January, and last week it was notified by Best Buy, the largest home appliance retailer in the US,

Meanwhile, there is a growing concern that the use of Chinese telecom equipment is increasing in Korea, which may cause security problems. Especially, in the process of commercialization of 5G mobile communication (5G), there is a controversy because Huawei and other Chinese equipment can be adopted.
