"We are making remarkable achievements in important business fields by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and block chains in the smart logistics platform `Cello."

Samsung SDS president Hong Won-pyo said in the `Smart Logistics Media Day` held at the Pangyo campus in Baek, Hyun-dong, Seongnam, Kyonggi Province on March 8.

Samsung SDS recorded sales of KRW 4.20 trillion last year through the smart logistics platform cello.

The company has a `Cello BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) platform` that integrates logistics optimization, international logistics, customs clearance, consulting on integrated logistics such as warehousing and unloading, local transportation and supply chain management (SCM) It is growing rapidly in the global logistics market with `Cello Plus` that combines Internet of Things (IoT), AI and block chain. Kim Hyung-tae, Vice President of Smart Logistics Division of Samsung SDS, said, "Based on the cello, we have enabled real-time visibility, full logistics execution, expanded final delivery, enhanced transaction record trust, process automation and intelligent logistics environment. Logistics` and `smart integrated logistics service differentiated from other companies`.

Samsung SDS has been building and operating an AI-based distribution center, especially in Europe, and is working on innovating its logistics business. In Europe, small stores operate in a unified form, making it difficult to integrate product inventory and forecast demand. Samsung SDS increased its TV sales forecast accuracy by 25 ~ 28 percentage points from the previous year after applying the AI Big Data Analysis Platform `Brightness AI` to the distribution center.

Samsung SDS Strategic Business Team Manager Lim Eun-soon said, "In Germany, salespeople spend a day on TV demand forecasting, but they have reduced the time to 10 minutes by applying the Brightness." In the last 48 weeks, "The BRITECS expects to sell 126,000 units, and the final 124,000 units are sold, so AI accuracy is higher and inventory costs can be significantly reduced."

Samsung SDS also participated in the construction of a logistics history management system for Samjin fish paste, the second pilot project of the consortium of shipping logistics chain last year. Samjin fish paste imports and processes raw materials in Vietnam and produces and distributes fish paste at Busan plant after import and export customs procedure.

By applying a block chain to this process, we can obtain reliable information on the origin of origin, and customers can immediately check the origin and distribution history with the QR code at the store. It is expected that reliability of origin and distribution process of agricultural and marine products will be greatly improved if commercialization is made in the future. Jang In-soo, head of the cello platform team at Samsung SDS, said, "We have been able to increase the reliability of our distribution history from origin to end customers by using a block chain that cannot be tampered with.¡±
