Intel to send video of autonomous driving shuttle & 8K¡¦ ¡®Real life 5G platform¡±

The advanced ICT Olympics based on the 5G network will be extended from PyeongChang to Tokyo. Intel, which has played a role as a worldwide partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to decorate the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games with a drones show, will showcase its 5G platform technology, which will go beyond the spectacular performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, is a plan.

Intel will hold a press conference with its partners ahead of the opening of `MWC 2018` in Barcelona, Spain, and announced its achievements in the PyeongChang Olympic Games and plans for the Tokyo Olympics.

Meanwhile, Intel, along with KT during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, built the largest 5G network of the Olympic Winter Games ever, with more than 22 5G links and network capacity to handle 3800 terabytes of data in 10 cities Equipped.

Also, Intel plans to launch a more complete, self-driving connected car service for visitors to the Tokyo Olympics. It also provides ultra-high resolution video transmission and VR relay service of 8K quality beyond 4K.

For example, in the case of surfing, a newly adopted sport in the Tokyo Olympic Games, field audiences do not stop watching the game with their binoculars on the beach, but they can enjoy a surfing experience with the players. The athletes will also be able to increase their training and capacity through 5G.

Through the 5G network, Intel can combine wearable devices, smart eHealth equipment, AR and VR simulations with AI technology, and can analyze various data to modify training programs and improve performance.

NTT DoCoMo CTO, Hiroshi Nakamura, said, "We are working on a variety of 5G services in partnership with more than 500 partners in the Tokyo Olympics. We will show the true 5G future at the Tokyo Olympics based on the inspiration we received from the Pyeongchang Olympic Games."
