¡®Home Care service¡¯ to grow in KRW 7 trillion¡¦Medium home appliances in competition in ¡®gold market¡¯

Korean electronics companies are competing in the domestic market for `home care services` worth KRW 7 trillion. Home care services, which were activated in Japan in the mid-2000s, are rapidly spreading in Korea recently.

According to industry sources on February 1, domestic small and medium-sized companies, such as Coway, Chungho Nice, and Cuckoo Electronics, are competing in the home care service market. In March, Home care service will be started for households using bidets that need nozzle management. In the future, we plan to increase the number of managed service products such as clothes dryer, kitchen hood and washing machine. Teacher home care service is provided mainly by `Wells Engineer` which is an existing installation management service.

Meanwhile, the home care service is similar to the after-care service (AS) provided by the existing home appliance makers, but the special manager regularly visits the home appliance to systematically check the appliances at various stages. In particular, demand for management services can be received regardless of specific products, and demand is rapidly increasing. In particular, home appliance companies that lease business are more active in entering the business, as they can leverage existing service personnel and sales networks.

Currently, the domestic home care service market is dominated by Coway, Chungho Nice, Kuckoo Electronics and Hansem. Coway, which has entered the home care service business in 2011, has expanded its service product line with water purifier and air conditioner, starting with bed mattress management service business. The service can also be used by households that use Samsung air conditioners or LG water purifiers. In addition to the existing service manpower Cody, he operates the `Home Care Doctor` organization.

Chungho Nice also entered the home care business with the `Micro Care` brand in 2016. Following ongoing mattress care services, we plan to expand our services to include a variety of items such as air conditioners, washing machines and kitchen hoods.

In 2009, Kuckoo Electronics, which is pursuing business diversification by leasing water purifier business, also entered the home care service business in July last year as a new business. Currently, there are 5 items such as washing machine, air conditioner, refrigerator, and mattress and kitchen hood.

On the other hand, Furniture maker Hansem also started with mattress management service in 2014, and recently it increased service items by washing machine and air conditioner. Recently, the company has joined the competition by introducing `Clean King` service and `Household Appliance Cleaning` services to eco-pricing kings and hi-marts.

An industry expert said, "Companies that have leased existing home appliances are paying attention to home care services because they already have a solid manpower and distribution network, so the initial investment cost is low and the added value is high."
