AI is introduced to the increasingly fierce legal market with 20,000 lawyers. The Supreme Court is pushing for the introduction of AI in private bankruptcy and electronic lawsuits.

The Supreme Court is expected to set up a strategy to build an AI-based intelligent private regeneration bankruptcy system this year, while pursuing an intelligent next - generation electronic lawsuit system construction project.

The intelligent personal regeneration bankruptcy system is very complicated and it is aimed to easily change the application for bankruptcy of the individual regeneration which had to depend on the lawyer or the broker like a year-end settlement. The Supreme Court plans to combine AI and Big Data with the existing private regeneration bankruptcy system, analyze all the borrower`s situation data at the time of the case, and utilize the information of the related institutions so that the applicant can apply for the bankruptcy of the individual regeneration without help of the agent. In particular, AI system learned with big data will help to make a more elaborate personal reimbursement plan decision, bankruptcy sentence and immunity decision.

A representative at the Supreme Court`s Administrative Office for Computer Information Information Bureau stated, "This year, through the ISP, we will secure a budget from the registration department and plan on building next year." "It is our goal to make it easy for the applicant to handle personal bankruptcy."

The Supreme Court is planning to start construction this year after finishing the ISP `s next generation intelligent next - generation electronic lawsuit system construction project. Through this system, it will support the method of filing suit and document according to the nature of the case, and will guide necessary documents and expected time of end of litigation.

Although AI technology is still a supporter in the field of face-to-face law, it is expected to penetrate deeply into the realm of legal experts in the long run. In the United States, a large law firm Baker & H£¿tetler in New York, in 2016, introduced AI Lawyer `ROSS` using the IBM Watson API. It analyzes billions of billions of documents per second and searches for legal provisions and judgments in seconds, and provides 24 hours of natural language consultation.

Similar attempts have been made in Korea. Yulchon, Pacific and other large law firms founded by lawyers `Help Me` using AI greatly reduced the cost. The company has hired IT developers to develop services such as corporate registration and inheritance issues in 2016, starting with the payment order automation service.

The Intelligence Law Office, which consists of lawyers and AI experts, has also developed and services the AI legal information system `i-LIS` last year.

Meanwhile, market researcher Gartner predicted that in 2022, AI would replace the higher education profession in law and IT. Professor Jang Byung-tak, a professor of computer engineering at Seoul National University, said, "AI will replace specialized jobs that utilize digitized data more than jobs that require face-to-face contact.
