"Do not buy a car now.¡±

Subscription service, in which global automakers can ride a new car for a specific period of time only for a specific period of time, aiming at a variety of new product choices, .

Monthly fees include vehicle insurance, replacement and maintenance of supplies, and 24-hour customer service. The user can pay for the service only for a period of 2 ~ 3 years, like a mobile communication service, and can extend the service period again or change to another car service when the contract term ends. In this regard, it differs from existing rental or lease. It is a concept similar to some kind of newspaper or magazine subscription service.

Meanwhile, Cadillac, Porsche, Volvo, and Lincoln have introduced the service in the United States, according to the Automotive News and Industry News. Mercedes offers subscription services in Germany and Italy. BMW is in the process of conducting market research for this service and plans to launch services in the US market this year. Hyundai is also expected to make the service available to the Genesis `G70` in the United States in May.

Volvo, in September, introduced its new Volvo XC40, a new subscription service, Car Care by Volvo. As you use your smartphone, you can choose the car, interior, option, and color you want and pay a fixed amount every month to use the `New XC40`. Volvo will launch the service in Sweden, the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and the United States, and then in other countries. An official of Volvo Car Korea said, "The timing of introducing Korean service has not yet been decided."

According to KOTRA, `Care-by-Volvo` service is available every two years in the US, and is available for USD 600 to USD 700 per month without additional registration fee. You can share your car with family and friends with your digital key.

Cadillac`s `North by Cadillac Service` allows subscribers to choose from a variety of models, not just one. For example, in winter, you can ride a sports utility vehicle (SUV), the XT5, and in summer, a large sedan, CT6. You can get up to USD 1500 a month and change up to 10 times for up to 18 cars. The mobile application delivers the car at the desired location. Since Cadillac manages the costs associated with vehicle maintenance, insurance, and car wash, the registered members only have to pay for the additional personal costs such as oil price and traffic. Cadillac started this service first in the city of New York, USA. It also provides services in Dallas and Los Angeles, and plans to expand services to other locations.

Porsche`s Passport service is currently available in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The registration fee is USD 500, and there are two packages, USD 2000 and USD 3000 monthly and unlimited mileage, vehicle changes, taxes, registration fees, insurance, and car delivery services. Porsche sports cars and SUVs are available in a variety of ways, with different types of vehicles available for each package.
