Samsung Electronics has unveiled the 146-inch ultra-large modular LCD TV with micro LED (light-emitting diode) technology for the first time in the global CE exhibition `CES 2018`. Samsung Electronics held a `Samsung First Look 2018` event with 300 internal and external reporters at the Las Vegas Enclave Convention Center on June 7 (local time) two days before the official opening of `CES 2018` `(The Wall).

`The Wall` is the world`s first `micro LED` technology. The micro LED is a self-luminous TV in which LED itself is used as a light source by eliminating backlight as well as color filter by using micrometer (㎛) unit small size LED. The company said it will deliver the best picture quality of existing displays. Han Jong-hee, president of Samsung Electronics` video display business, stated, "We are going to two-track with QLED and although LCDs are limited in size, micro LEDs can overcome these limitations. Once we start, we can get rid of it." He also said that they are discussing joint technology development with a Taiwanese company and that Samsung Electronics directly produces the products. Some foreign companies reported that Samsung Electronics last year launched a micro-LED maker `Play Night Ride` in Taiwan. The wall can be designed in a modular structure to assemble the screen size and shape as desired. The `bezelless` design with no screen border allows the entire wall to be screened. Samsung Electronics plans to start selling it in the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) method this year and aim to expand the market from next year.

Meanwhile, the event also unveiled 2018 `85-inch 8K QLED TV `, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to convert low-resolution contents into ultra-high-quality images at 8K level, and 2018 smart TV, which is equipped with artificial intelligence platform` Bixbee `. 8K QLED TV adopting `AI high-definition conversion technology` finds the best filter which calibrates brightness, black, smear and so on by itself and converts it into high-definition image, and even if the user does not set the function separately, And adjusts the sound effect according to.
