According to industry sources on January 7, Kakao has removed a "hot deal" from KakaoTalk and expanded its "Kakaotalk store" in a large update.
Hot deal is a service that allows users to buy next-day specials such as home shopping such as CJ Mall, open market such as auction, and KakaoTalk. In KakaoTalk, it showed a variety of products ranging from miscellaneous items such as hats to prefabricated houses. But Cacao decided to remove this feature from this update and only offer it for the next shopping. It seems that the product group of famous shopping mall has taken a stride in raising the `Kakaotalk store` which is the commercial platform of the cacao, rather than entering it.
Since last year, Kakao has launched a pilot test, which is a commercial platform for KakaoTalk, where famous brands and small and medium-sized merchants can open their own IDs and sell their products. When each company creates a `KakaoTalk` account called `Plus Friend`, the user can add a desired brand as a friend, receive an event message such as a discount sale, and order and settle the product directly in the chat window.
The company has begun to support product marketing by promoting the "discount on rumors" feature on the tok store. `If you get a rumored discount,` you can share the things you want to buy in up to 3 chat windows. In November last year, after testing with over 200 companies, it first appeared on the KakaoTalk "More" tab, and this update was moved to the top of the screen. It is a move to strengthen commerce by putting a tokyo store on the front.
Open market operators are nervous about this change in KakaoTalk. After Naver Shopping, KakaoTalk, a national messenger, entered the commerce market and could have a destructive power. An official in the distribution industry said, "It is true that cacao is a long-term threat to the commerce sector." In response, Cacao made the line "not competing with the open market." In the third quarter, Kakao`s commerce sales rose 22% from the previous quarter and 43% from the same period a year earlier, thanks to KakaoTalk gift and Kakao Friends.
