The Chinese authorities have lifted some bans on the sale of Korean tour packages in March by the Sad Revival Act, and expectations for the return of "euker" to the distribution industry are mounting.
On the 28th, the Chinese government will hold a meeting on August 28th, and only general tour operators in Beijing and Shandong areas will be allowed to visit Korea for the first time. It is only eight months that Chinese tourists in South Korea are resumed. In the future, the Chinese authorities are expected to release tour groups to Korea gradually in accordance with the region.
However, Lotte Hotel stay and Lotte Duty Free Shop shopping are not included in the tour products course. It is analyzed that the effect is limited due to the prohibition of shopping at the Lotte Hotel and the prohibition of shopping at the Lotte Duty Free Shop when selling group tourist products, and not selling low priced goods to Korea.
As a part of the Sad reprisals last March, the National Bureau of Supremacy prohibited the sale of Chinese tourists to Korea. Travel agencies in Beijing, Shanghai, etc. have stopped selling tourist products in Korea, and have notified travel agencies of sex, city, and autonomous regions. The number of Koreans who came to China in April, which is just after the end of the Gulf War, was 227,811, down 66.6% from the same period last year. The number of Chinese who went to China last month decreased by 49.3 percent from the same period of the previous year to 345 5384 people. According to the Korea Duty Free Shop, domestic duty-free sales rose 12.2 percent from the same period last year to $ 1.1187 billion, but the profitability was worse because of the large package effect on purchasing.
However, the duty-free shop industry expects this measure to signal the normalization of the business environment. It is not the level of expectation at the moment, but it is the position that Korea and China will announce a joint agreement on `Sad conflict settlement` on 31st of last month and expect to come forward next month with the Korea-China summit. A duty-free shop industry official said, "We have been good at bilateral relations, but we have never given a direct signal from the government of the state, which is a ministry," he said.
In addition, there is still a prospect that the effects of charter flights and cruise ship docking will not be solved until relevant measures are taken. Group tourists are mostly on charter flights, but charter flights are still blocked, so it takes time to wait for them. Another industry official said, "Considering the time it takes to gather tourists by making travel products and consulting between travel agencies, it will not be normalized right away." "Winter is a low season, so visible effects will not appear right away." .
