LG Display is expanding facility investment to increase its market share of small and medium-sized OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels. In particular, LG Display£¿ large-scale OLED equipment orders are expected to continue next year, and related companies are expected to benefit.

According to industry sources, LG Display is increasing orders for related equipment in order to increase the production capacity of small and medium sized OLED panels.

According to DB Securities, LG Display`s investment in OLED equipment was estimated at 8.5 trillion won, an increase of 21.4% from the previous year.

Accordingly, LG Display`s small- and mid-sized OLED equipment orders will increase to the level of producing 37,500 panels per month. Previously, LG Display ordered 15,000 units per month in 2016 and 30,000 units per month in 2017. LG Display announced that it plans to invest 15 trillion won in OLED production capacity expansion by October 2019.

In particular, there will be additional orders for OLED panel production equipment such as E6 production line at Paju P10 plant and Gumi E5 production line next year. In addition, orders for related equipment are expected to continue, as large-scale OLED investments, including Paju P10 plant and Guangzhou factory in China, are expected to expand.

As such large-scale equipment orders are expected to continue, Jusung Engineering, Viatron, Invenia and DMS are securing successful orders. Jusung Engineering is anticipated to record OP (operational profit] margin next year, as it expects to supply 6G flexible OLED process equipment and plasma chemical vapor deposition equipment (PE CVD) for the 8.5th generation liquid crystal display (LCD) factory in Guangzhou, China. Jusung Engineering is expected to post an OP margin of 6.7% in 2014, followed by 14% last year and 16% this year.

ViaTron is expected to win orders worth W70bn ~ 80bn for the heat treatment equipment for 6G OLED and PIC equipment (equipment for curing PI solution to high temperature to produce polyimide substrate).

DMS (DMS) is also expected to benefit from increased orders for small and medium-sized OLED equipment and large-scale thin film transistor (TFT) cleaning equipment. LG Display, which is awaiting approval from the government`s Industrial Technology Protection Committee, is expected to provide more than KRW 3 trillion in export opportunities to domestic equipment makers for the facility investment in Guangzhou OLED production line in China.

An industry observer said, "While other display makers are cutting back on small and medium-sized OLED investments and order volume, LG Display is steadily increasing OLED equipment investment and equipment orders." In addition to LGD`s facility investment, We believe that equipment makers will benefit more from the facility investment. "
