LG U Plus will launch an AI speaker early next month. Although it is the slowest of the three mobile carriers and it is planned to differentiate it from its competitors by taking advantage of its strength as a leading provider of home Internet of Things services (IoT).

According to the industry on November 14, LG U Plus will release AI speakers with Naver`s AI platform, Clover, next month. Unlike SK Telecom or KT, which uses its own platform, it combines Naver`s AI technology.

Unlike conventional devices, the Clover allows you to talk without having to call the device each time you order it. It`s convenient because you do not have to call your device every time and get answers to your questions. An official in the industry said, "We know that we are thinking about linking with knowledge content and so on as we have installed Clover." Earlier this year LG U + gained a stake in Genie Music, and the contents of Genie Music will also be linked to the launch of AI speakers.

LG U Plus has come to this point to announce that Kwon Young-soo, the vice chairman, will release AI speakers this year. It is the latest strategy of securing a competitive edge through differentiation.

Meanwhile LG U Plus is said to have set up a strategy to raise AI speakers as the hub of home IoT. As of the end of October, LG U + has the largest number of households in the telecom industry, with 930,000 homes subscribing to home IoT. Therefore, the company will be able to integrate with home IoT, which controls home appliances through AI speakers, in spite of the delayed launch of LG U Plus.

A representative of LG U Plus said, "It will be a product that maximizes user convenience by linking with various platforms and contents such as U + TV`s children`s country."

Meanwhile, LG U + will focus on expanding IoT technology. An official of LG U + said, "The IoT tracker being developed through Qualcomm fund is expected to be released this year."
