KEPCO stated that its own research and investigation revealed that the "Northeast Asia Super Grid" project, in which Russia participates, appears to be economically and technically feasible.

Especially, Cho Hwan-wik, president of KEPCO (photo), met with the Russian Far East Development Minister next week to discuss the Northeast Asia Super Grid in earnest.

The Northeast Asia Super Grid is a project that connects renewable energy power grids in five countries in Northeast Asia, including Korea, China, Japan, Russia, and Mongolia starting from Russia, starting from Mongolia, going to North Korea and Korea, and constructing a power network that will go from China to Korea and Japan. In the meantime, Russia was looking for its own power grid connection business in East Asia, and Japan was planning to link the power grid of Korea, China and Japan led by Chairman of SOFTBANK.

On the other hand, President Moon Jae-in proposed the "Northeast Asia Super Grid" which integrated the plans of Russia and Japan at the Eastern Economic Forum held on September 6 in Russia.

President Cho Hwan-ik said, "I studied the feasibility of the Northeast Asian Super Grid project and found that it is feasible economically and technologically," he met with reporters at the Light Garram International Power Technology Expo (Big Spo) "Next week, the Russian Far East Development Minister visits Korea, and I decided to discuss this issue (Northeast Asia super grid)."

He also said, "At the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia, where the last President attended, the heads of state agreed on the necessity of an energy-linking system in Northeast Asia and that it was helpful in mitigating tensions in Northeast Asia.

KEPCO explained that it has enough business capability and the total project cost is about 3 trillion won as a result of intensive research on connecting the 1000-kilometer power grid from North Korea to Russia through Vladivostok, Russia, in the Northeast Asia Super Grid business. In addition, the existing Japan-China-Japan Super Grid business centered on Japan has already completed the feasibility study and is expected to reach about 7 trillion won. The Korea-China-Japan Super Grid is a project that connects Korea and China through the west coast and Korea and Japan through an 830km power line through the southern coast.

Also, Cho expressed his intention to actively pursue Smart City business. "We are pursuing a smart city project in Dubai, UAE, Maryland and Sejong City," said Cho. "We will pursue it with a customized approach, though it is still in its infancy." " £¿ It is the plan of KEPCO that it is up to the factory to make it to the factory. "It is also the idea that the idea is to change the smart farming system such as tractor, cultivator etc. into energy-saving farming environment.

He also pointed out "We often meet with the managing director to explain the strengths of Korea.£¿ "We are moving carefully on our schedule and we are also using pressure strategies."
