Korea Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPG) has revealed that it has begun a major restructuring of its in-house marketing organization. It is an attempt to change the marketing method for the server which is the core business, server performance and PC level.

A representative familiar with the HPE report mentioned, "We know that HPE, which has removed public relations organizations in Korea a few years ago, is now undergoing major cuts in its marketing organization." In addition to more than eight marketing managers within the enterprise group, including executives, we know we made a resignation offer, "he stated.

The restructuring is said to be under way in such a way that it cannot grasp the employees of other departments such as consulting and sales in the enterprise group. One executive in HPE said, "It is difficult to know who not the target is because the usual notice of leaving is conducted on an individual basis."

Meanwhile, the restructuring of the global headquarters is due to the rapidly changing market landscape of the server market. An expert in the industry said, "As the X86 server technology became popular on the PC level, the need for advanced technology marketing was reduced, and telemarketing at the head office seems to be sufficient."

Recently, cloud companies such as Amazon, Google and Apple have become the "black hole" of server demand as cloud spreads. Amazon, Google, etc. have their own teams and are developing servers. Facebook has also been building its own X86 server since 2011 through an open computer project. "We will not sell our entry-level servers to Amazon, Facebook, Google, or Microsoft," said Antonio Nerry, president of HPE, at an analyst event this month.

Among them, Dell EMC has unexpected synergies and increased its market share in the server market. HPE lost its first place in the domestic server market for the first time in the first quarter of this year to Dell EMC. "Dell has been struggling in the past," said Dell, who has been struggling in the past. After the merger, EMC is backed by EMC`s sales force. "With the growth of Dell EMC, HPE servers have been hit, Dell`s share of EMC is also growing."

HPE has avoided official confirmation. HPE Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) said, "HPE Korea has a team with strong leadership and dedication to our employees. We will not comment on speculation."
