LG U Plus ran a high-quality match video on the basis of `4.5G network` which can provide high speed data transmission up to 900Mbps by providing a separate demonstration booth outside Seoul Jamsil Baseball Hall on October 17. A variety of services have been utilized based on the `4.5G network` that can transmit data at a maximum speed of 900Mbps. `360 degree VR`, `Attack close-up image`, which turns a crucial moment at multiple angles.

The 4.5G technology introduced is a 5G mobile broadcasting service that enables users to enjoy various video screens on smartphones based on the LG U Plus LTE network with gigabit transmission speed. It provides high-definition video that is more than six times clearer than the existing professional baseball app service. In case of LG U + PLUS position video by mobile, you can watch at-bat, first, second, third, and outfield movements at the same time watching real-time game relay. The 4K (UHD class) high-resolution `360 degree VR` which can see the supporting seat and the dugout screen can watch the scene by turning the smartphone all the way like a camera angle. It is possible to see the batting of the batter and the scene of the runner`s home from various angles with the batting close-up image.

LG U Plus has invested about KRW 1 billion in this demonstration service and game relay. A total of 56 cameras were mobilized along with network investment in a way to boost the existing network. We also developed a media platform that allows multiple cameras to simultaneously synchronize multiple images taken at different angles and synchronize them in time. High compression codec (HEVC), which is twice as efficient as the existing one, has also been applied to stream full HD and ultra HD video simultaneously.

LG U Plus is planning to commercialize these services in the next year`s professional baseball season with `LG U Plus Professional Baseball` app that relay domestic baseball to its customers in real time. The service is expected to be available only on premium handsets since the middle of this year.

Meanwhile, LG U Plus plans to continue to develop 5G service, which is expected to attract attention in the future, and to combine it with popular sports events. Park Jun-dong, managing director of LG U + `s Future Service Business, said, "We did not have much opportunity to actually show 5G technologies and services that have become a hot topic to our customers. We prepared for this demonstration and we will accumulate it."

LG U Plus has been providing 4.5G service up to 900Mbps around the major metropolitan areas such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, Pusan and Daegu from the end of August, and will continue to expand service offerings according to traffic growth .
