The domestic content industry, which is tightly exported to China, finds its pores in the special economic zone of Shenzhen due to China`s economic rebound following the deployment of a high-altitude missile defense system (THAAD) on the Korean peninsula.

According to the government on September 20, the Korea Creative Content Agency is promoting the establishment of a "propaganda representative" in the Shenzhen software industrial complex with the aim of opening in the year. Although the establishment of the "Chongqing Shenzhen Mission", which has been promoted for two years, has not been achieved, it plans to establish a bridgehead for content companies to enter China through the propaganda representative.

Earlier, the Ministry of Information and Communication launched a business agreement with Chongqing Cultural Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Chongqing City to promote domestic content companies by the end of 2015, and received an official mission from Chongqing City to enter local content enterprises. However, Chongqing City has changed its stance since it has made a so called ¡®Hanan command¡¯ since July last year when the THAAD deployment on the Korean Peninsula was decided. As a matter of fact, domestic content export in the first quarter of this year was 1.4 trillion won, down about 5% from the same period last year. This is the impact of China`s exports, which account for 27% of our content exports.

Therefore, KISA turned to the China Free Economic Zone, which is relatively free from the influence of the international situation. It approved the establishment of a representative office in Shenzhen. It is scheduled to open in early December.

Office, and public relations center, is a nonprofit business support space. To help Korean companies develop their business locally, they will introduce the legal and copyright matters and introduce local companies to Korean content providers.

Especially, the representative office will concentrate on localizing our contents companies themselves, considering the situation in China, which is highly resistant to `Korean products`. It is the idea that our companies will be able to collaborate with Chinese enterprises in the SW industrial complex from the early stage of entry.

Besides, the public relations center will borrow a culture exchange format to support our content companies to establish networks with local buyers.

Meanwhile in June, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Agency for International Cooperation held a kind of exchanges between Korea and China, The representative office is also planning to penetrate the Chinese export route that is blocked by this strategy. This event is a project presentation that introduces China`s excellent source story that can develop into various genres such as movies, dramas, and publications to Chinese content creators, distributors and investors. Ten stories were introduced and more than 100 Chinese content companies participated in business meetings after the presentation.

On the other hand, a source from the Korea Creative Content Agency said, "The propaganda representative will be a bridge to connect our content companies, which are seeking to enter the Shenzhen and Guangzhou regions, and Chinese companies interested in Korean content."
