Twosome Place following Starbucks¡¦Smart era for coffee shops

The 'Smart Retail' service has been introduced at the Twosome Place Seoul new Nonhyeon station. Once customers touch the dessert sticker attached to the display case with their hand, it recommends a drink suitable for the dessert.



There is a speed in the digital innovation competition in the coffee shop industry. Recently, Twosome Place has launched a smart store and started a digital experiment.

According to the distribution industry on September 20, Twosome Place has recently cooperated with Samsung Electronics to start a pilot operation of `Smart Retail` at the Seoul New Nonhyun Station. Smart Retail has a total of four facilities, and customers stand in front of the screen in the store, they can automatically recognize the customer`s face and recommend a tumbler and cup to suit him. If you turn on the NFC mode of the mobile phone and recognize it on the device next to the screen, you can automatically apply for the event.

If customers touch one of the dessert stickers (NEW • BEST • HOT) in front of the cake display, they can recommend a drink suitable for the dessert by using the screen. Besides, if they look at CJ ONE points at the time of calculation, it can suggest you the right menu and MD products for your customers to Twosome Place which plans to test Smart Retail by September 25.

"The distribution industry has been interested in food technology and futuristic stores using IT technology in recent years," said representative at Twosome Place. "We started piloting the car that was designed for a smart store, and the specific operation plan is not yet decided."

In short, Twosome Place launched its first mobile app featuring rechargeable prepaid cards and barcode payment capabilities to kickstart digital innovation in May. It has been aiming to catch the `thumb` through digital innovation as mobile has become the center of shopping in both online and offline. The number of downloads of the Twosome Place app has recently surpassed 140,000.

In the coffee shop industry, Starbucks Coffee Korea is leading the digital innovation with O2O pre-order service `Siren order`. The siren order is a mobile service that allows customers to visit a nearby Starbucks store and order drinks when they order beverages. Siren orders were first launched at Starbucks in Korea and expanded to the US, Canada, and the UK. In 2011, Twosome Place launched a mobile site payment service, and a drive-through (DT) store introduced a picture ordering system. Starbucks plans to cooperate with SK Telecom and offer a voice order service that uses AI (Intelligent AI) in conjunction with smart speaker `who` with siren order.
