The competition with the ICT industry and the competition with the ICT industry are growing as the automobile industry continues to show the voice recognition AI service as one of the core technologies of the autonomous vehicle. The industry expects that the battle for the initiative in AI will become more and more intense as the smart car and Smart Home era span the industry.

According to industry sources, Jaguar Land Rover will unveil the world`s first voice recognition AI steering wheel `Seair` at TechFest in London on Wednesday (August 8). It is characterized by the fact that it can be purchased separately as much as the AI is applied to the steering wheel, not the navigation or infotainment system.

Jaguar Land Rover announced that it made this product by paying attention to the possibility that vehicle sharing will become common in the future. He added that Jaguar will present a new vision for the future. It did not disclose the specific product concept and release plans.

Meanwhile, the efforts of the automobile industry to develop speech recognition AI are currently in progress. In the case of Hyundai Motors, it will apply Amazon`s Alexa to some North American Genesis models and the server-type voice recognition technology developed with Kakao will be applied to the Genesis G70, which will launch on September 15.

Toyota is actively investing in the development of autonomous navigation and artificial intelligence, including the acquisition of James Cuffner, General Manager of Google AI, in 2015, and the establishment of Microsoft and Big Data Analysis subsidiaries in 2016.

GM, on the other hand, has announced that it will introduce On Star-Go, a solution based on IBM`s AI, Watson, and BMW is cooperating with Intel Mobile I and Baidu of China in artificial intelligence technology.

The carmaker industry is also securing AI technology by acquiring direct start-up. Ford said it plans to invest USD 1 billion (about KRW 1.1 trillion) in its five - year investment in the Argo AI in February, and to commercialize autonomous cars by 2021.

"It is planned that the technology paradigm shift will accelerate as the convergence and investment between the industries is widened and the real estate is destroyed," said Chae Hee-keun, a research fellow at KB Financial Group. "We believe that Korea has weak points such as artificial intelligence, big data.¡± He said.
