"We did not sell one at the weekend. When did you get the discount, when does Galaxy Note 8 come out, we have a lot of inquiries like this. However, we`ve been disconnecting for a week."

A mobile phone agency in Seoul. As a result, the agency is postponing new subscriptions and number portability as the company implements policies such as upgrading the discount rate for select contracts and abolishing the cap on terminal subsidies from next month.

According to the mobile phone industry on August 28, the number of mobile phone number transfers in the past week has decreased by 5000 ~ 7000 times a month from the average. In many cases, there were cases in which the number was reduced by about 10,000.

In July, there were a total of 667,187 number transfer cases, including mobile phone number transfer. The average number of subscribers who switched to the carrier was 24,799 (24 business days). In June and May, when numbers were slightly smaller than July, there were about 22,000 to 23,000 daily number movements on average every day. In August last year, about 25,000 number transfers per day were made steadily.

However, this figure fell to 10,000 in August. According to the telecommunications industry, the number portability dropped to an average of 18,000 to 19,000 a day in August. It is a 28% decrease compared with usual.

The reason why the number-transfer market has so frozen is that a variety of telecom discount policies are waiting for the coming September. The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) issued an administrative action on August 18 to raise the discount rate of the selective contracts from the previous 20% to 25%. From that time on, the number of communication triplet numbers has started to drop sharply. The mobile phone industry has figured that the average number of calls is 18,000 per day from the 18th to the 23rd. If the contract is discounted, it is not easy to terminate the contract for two years. Cancellation will result in a penalty amounting to the discounted amount. Consumers will only have to wait a couple of weeks to receive a 25% discount from September 15. `Waiting demand` is inevitable. As a result, there were only 18,500 number transfers on the 23rd.

The announcement of Galaxy Note 8 due to 0:00 on the 24th day also contributed to the decrease in number portability. In addition to the Galaxy Note 8, LG Electronics` V30 and Apple`s iPhone 8, including premium phones, are lining up and consumers are waiting for premium phones to slow down their subscriptions. The 24-day number transfer was reported to have fallen to the lowest level of 18,000 this month.

Meanwhile, the judge is the Korea Communications Commission. The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) revealed that it will abolish the terminal subsidy ceiling from October on the occasion of the general meeting on August 25, the three-year sunset abolition was formulated.

Since the abolishment of the ceiling on subsidies, mobile operators are warning of a high level of `subsidy war` in order to strengthen the marketing of strategic smartphones. Mobile carriers have already started pre-marketing while operating the Galaxy Note 8 Experience Zone, which is the largest ever. So, on August 26 and 26, which was the weekday business day, the number portability was less than the number of the weekly business which was close to 30,000 pyeong city with 19,900 cases and 18,400 cases.

A specialist from the mobile phone industry said, "It seems that a large number of factors are overlapping and that large-scale standby demand is occurring after the announcement of Note 8 and the formalization of the cease of the ceiling of the subsidy, State. Due to the waiting demand, the demand will exponentially increase with the launch of Note 8 after September 15, when the contract discount rate is started." Competition to attract subscribers from telecom companies is also intensifying, and high-level subsidies are likely to be released.
