[Digital Times, Kim Soo-yeon] Korean and overseas IT giants are introducing AI technology to social network service such as messenger.

SNS AI Secretary service market is expected to get hotter as the service will start in Korea sometime this year.

According to the industry on August 27, IT companies such as Google, Naver, and KakaoTalk are adopting SNS as a tool to increase AI influence.

SNS is able to acquire not only the user but also the acquaintance at a time, and it is noticed that it is familiar and can access anytime and anywhere with smartphone without device unlike the recent AI speaker.

The start of this move is the launch of `Alo`, a new instant messenger app by Google in the second half of last year. Alo is the first example of Google`s application of its voice-recognition AI secretary, ¡®Google Assistant,¡¯ to apps instead of devices such as smartphones and speakers. Alo has a built-in Google assistant function that understands and answers the user`s dialogue context in the dialog. If a user tells Alo what movie to watch, he recommends the latest movie information to suit his / her taste. You do not have to leave Messenger to search for movie information during a conversation.

Meanwhile, Korean users can also use it when they download Alo from Google Play. However, they do not support Korean. The time for Korean language support is expected to be around the end of the year when Korean is added to the language of the Google assistant app.

Naver, who launched the AI secretary market with the AI platform `Clover`, a visual recognition engine and an interactive engine, is currently using the `band recommendation` function of the group `SNS` band `SNS` `Machine Learning` technology will be applied. Naver explained that Machine Learning plans to introduce the band`s theme-based band recommendation feature first. It will implement a feature that recommends a `theme band` that shows a specific topic as an interest. Naver`s subsidiary line already has a chatbot in Japan, and it provides chatbot food service, courier service, and taxi reservation service.

Recently, Kakao introduced AI platform `Kakao Eye` which contains multimedia processing technology such as speech recognition, synthesis, natural language processing, and image recognition, and is applying it to KakaoTalk Messenger. The company`s explanation is that it will become a KakaoTalk product reservation and purchase service first. It will be possible to implement the service in the second half as long as it provides 24-hour product purchase, reservation, and counseling services to `plus friends` who make friends with companies through chatbot. The company is also considering using the simple payment service `Kakao Pay` at the settlement stage.

Facebook is reportedly preparing a messenger service that enhances the AI secretary function through a text-based AI start-up oozero recently acquired.

According to foreign press such as Business Insider, Oslo has a technology capable of promptly responding to real life questions such as restaurants and movies through knowledge assets of more than 2 billion real life. This technology is likely to be used in Facebook`s ¡®Assistant M (Messenger).¡¯ Assistant M is an AI service that helps users by making suggestions according to the context of Facebook Messenger conversations. It was introduced to US users in April.
