With the recent Internet Nayana Hacking, the interest in the Linux OS vaccine, which is less interesting compared to the Windows OS endpoint security in Korea, is expected to grow.

According to CVE Details (CVE Details), 350 new vulnerabilities have been found around the world from the beginning of the year to July. It has exceeded the number of last year (217) and it is the largest ever since the first investigation in 1999.

Linux is widely used in data center x86 servers and the Internet of Things (IoT) OS field, and it is increasingly being attacked by hacking attacks. In fact, in June of last year, about 153 of the 300 Linux servers in Nayana, a hosting company, were hacked by Erebus Ransomware. Erebus was originally Ransomware that exploited the vulnerability of the Windows operating system, but the attack at that time was a variant of the Linux server. An expert of the security industry said, "Recently, x86 servers have been using Linux OSs in public institutions and SMEs. However, there are many cases where there is no vaccine installed, and companies with Linux-based vaccines are targeting the market."

As a result, three leading domestic vaccine makers in the public market, AAP & East Security HAURI, analyzed that the market reaction was different from the past. "We are experiencing an increase in customer inquiries about Linux vaccines recently. However, it is not directly linked to sales.¡± An East security official said, "Institutions and companies are not directly connected to the demand for securing budgets at the beginning of the year or early in the year, but the next year is expected as the number of Linux vaccines is increasing."

Meanwhile, Kaspersky Lab Korea is focusing on the Linux market from this year, judging that the domestic Windows OS based vaccine market is saturated. "As Erebus Ransomware has recently raised customer inquiries about Linux security, it has been tested in three places last week," said Kaspersky Lab representative. "The demand for Linux customers grew by 10 % each year.¡±

Hauri points out that the demand for Linux vaccine is going up, mainly in public institutions such as the company`s main customers. Hauri representative said, "We have been aware that Linux has a relatively small number of viruses in the past, but recently the hacking has changed the atmosphere." In particular, 10%~ 20% increase has been seen.¡±
