Hyundai Motors to operate Chongqing Factory in Chine from the second half of the year…300,000 unit on annual basis

[Digital Times, Choi Yong-soon] Hyundai Motor`s fifth production base in China, the Chongqing factory, is expected to start operating in earnest in the second half of the year.
According to the industry sources on July 17, Hyundai Motor Chongqing factory is currently under trial operation and will hold a ceremony before the completion on July 19 and will start production in earnest in the second half of this year. The factory has an annual production capacity of 300,000 units and was built on a land of 1.83 million square meters in 293,000 square meters in the National Economic Development Zone of Chongqing City. The Chongqing plant is a comprehensive plant equipped with presses, bodywork, paints, design lines and engine plants.
An industry expert said, "Chongqing city officials will attend the ceremony and ceremony at the Chongqing factory of Hyundai Motor Company."
Hyundai Motor is expected to build five production bases in China with the completion of the Chongqing factory. The Chongqing plant, which will become a key base for exploiting the western market in China, is expected to produce local strategic models such as small passenger cars and sports utility vehicles (SUVs).
