LG CNS has received orders for KB Kookmin Bank`s replacement of old ATMs. This is the first ATM project this year.
According to the financial IT industry on July 5, LG CNS has succeeded in winning the 1000-size project by writing the lowest price among the three companies before the bidding for the Kookmin Bank ATMs project with Nautilus Hyosung and Chung Ho Comnets.
This is the first order of this year after Nautilus Hyosung has offered a replacement for IBK IB and NH Bank.
However, it is said that LG CNS has conducted low-cost bidding by writing down prices at 70 ~ 80% of its normal trading price. ATMs, which were sold at around KRW 19 million per unit in 2010, have recently fallen in price from KRW 12 million to 13 million due to a drop in profitability and a price hike, such as bidding for the lowest and reverse auction prices of banknotes.
Meanwhile, in the industry, the makers` margins are at least KRW 12 million for various costs, and losses are inevitable if they are traded below this level.
It has been analyzed that it is the procedure for selling LG CNS `financial automation business organization recently.
An expert from the financial IT industry explained, "Due to the nature of the domestic ATM machine, which has multiple functions combined, the amount of less than KRW 10 million is not profitable but only loss. As a result, it was observed that LG CNS is not in the process of organizing the inventory through this project.¡± This is because the inventory of ATMs may become a stumbling block to the sale price.
Meanwhile, Kookmin Bank has already budgeted about KRW 12 billion for the project.
On the other hand, the industry is also paying attention to the results of the postal bidding at the Postal Service headquarters, which is scheduled for July 18, to be worth KRW 10 billion.
An expert said, "The purpose of the inventory clearance becomes clear once LG CNS gets another business at low prices again."
LG CNS representative said, "We won the Kookmin Bank ATM project. It is difficult to disclose details about the ongoing business, and there is no decision yet to be made regarding the disposal of the financial automation business."
Meanwhile, LG CNS has been engaged in the related HW & SW business after acquiring the financial automation business from LG NSS in 2013.
