So called SNS Twitter has recently seen its market share rise in Korea.

According to `Social Media Statistics` of Stat Counter, a global market research institute, Twitter`s share of Korea soared to 5 ~ 7% by March this year, 16.18% in April and 32.45% in last month.

The share of Facebook, the world`s largest social networking site, on the other hand, has fallen to 59.66 % last month from 80 % in March. There is an emphasis on the interpretation that the former Facebook users moved to Twitter.

The statistics are only for foreign social networking sites like pinterest, tumbler and google plus. Korean social networks such as `band` and `kakao story` do not appear. Especially, the twitter breakthrough in Korea was in stark contrast to the statistics for the whole world. The global share of twitter was 3-4% this year between March and May. There was no big change in market share in the United States of America. It was 5.27% in March, 6.20% in April and 6.68% in May.

The recent increase in twitter service usage in Korea is attributed to the increase in political dialogue after the presidential election.

Tweeter Korea representative said, "It seems that the reason for the increase of tweeter use in the number of political dialogue since the presidential election. President Moon Jae-in seems to have influenced the increase of service usage by trying to communicate with Twitter by posting soft news such as cat livelihood that he keeps growing.

Meanwhile, according to the quarterly earnings report released by the company in April this year, the average number of monthly users (MAU) who use Twitter all over the world is about 328 million.
