This year, bio-verification IT companies such as LG Hitachi and Secucen have passed the performance test of bio-verification solution of Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute successively.

According to industry sources on May 10, six companies including LG Hitachi, Fujitsu Korea, SecucenㆍSupremaㆍUnioncommunity, which provide finger and palm vein authentication services have passed the performance test of Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute successively (KFTC) . A KFTC representative said, "Passing performance test means applying distributed management system, meaning commercialization of biometric authentication service as well as safety."

Currently, Fujitsu Korea has supplied the vein verification solutions to Shinhan Bank and LG Hitachi have supplied its vein verification solutions to Busan Bank. As more and more IT companies pass the performance test of the KFTC this year, it is noteworthy that the application of various bio verification solutions of financial companies will increase rapidly.

A Financial sector expert said, "The financial industry has built trust by utilizing the joint payment network of KFTC for a long time. It is highly likely that the financial sector will review the system more positively if it is a bio-verification service guaranteed by KFTC. if other verification methods are required in addition to the official certificate."

In fact, Fujitsu Korea is currently discussing introducing a bio-verification solution to Kookmin Bank. In addition, performance evaluation of KFTC for iris authentication companies such as Irisis, Iris Itech, and Irlion is also underway, so the selection of bio-verification solutions by financial institutions will be broader.
