The arcade game, which was recognized as a game of `sagacity` with the `Sea Story` incident, is aiming to `revive` the game with virtual reality (VR) technology and sensible contents.

The arcade game was the awareness of a gambling game as a result of the illegal gambling game of the sea story that occurred in 2006. In the aftermath of this, the market of gun shooting and the sound arcade game market called DDR and so-called game room were rapidly frozen.

According to the Korea Creative Content Agency, the number of arcade game rooms decreased from 10,509 in 2005 to 11,182 in 2007. In 2015, there are only 667 games left. The domestic arcade game market is expected to decline by 36% in five years and four years, from KRW 73.6 billion in 2016 to KRW 47.4 billion in 2015.

However, in the era of VR games, the outlook for the arcade game market will be reversed.

It is a common opinion in the industry that it is important to support policy makers and developers with arcade game technology to go to VR games and sensory games

An industry expert said, "In the case of VR games, the content that users experience through the five senses is the key. As such, it is the arcade game best suited for synergy by combining this technology. It is time for the government to actively support the development of related production capabilities and revitalize the market so that arcade games can bloom again with their contents."

Among them, the government plans to support 2 sensible game development projects this year through a project to support the production of sensible arcade games, totaling KRW 480 million (within KRW 250 million per task).

The project, which has been started in 2014, was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency for businesses that can plan and develop sensible arcade games. It is the intent of this business to find and support arcade games that can directly experience the fun and effects of the game, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of arcade games.

Balkan Shooting (developer motion device), XDVR mechanic wars (play park), Funny motion (worldwide game R & D) are the representative sensory VR games developed through this business.

Balkan Shooting is an action shooting game that is worn on a motion simulator wearing a head mounted display (HMD) VR device developed 2015. Users can feel the fun of shooting down flying objects. It participates in exhibitions at home and abroad, and has been popular in the entertainment industry.

XDVR Mechanic Wars is a VR robot shooting arcade game that combines HMD type VR equipment and motion simulator in 2016. A user is a first-person shooter with a robot-type motion simulator, which is a first-person shooter with a robot. After the user is in the robot, the user directly controls the robot with a joystick and uses a machine gun and a missile gun to battle the robot.

Last year`s Funny Motion was a sensational rhythm action game (non-VR game), developed for users interested in music in North America, Europe, China and Southeast Asia. It features a fusion of Korean traditional music through collaboration with fusion Korean music band `Lin`. It used Korean traditional dance instruction as game contents. According to the Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency, XDVR Mechanic Wars and Funny Motion are planning to conclude service contracts between game facility operators and game companies, such as arcade rooms, and will provide services in VR rooms and arcade rooms after contracts are finalized.
