The Galaxy S8 spring wind is blowing in the mobile phone market. The market, which had been stagnant due to the absence of a premium smartphone, has just begun to sell with the Galaxy S8.

There are steady steps to book the Galaxy S8 with the pre-sale at the mobile phone distribution site.

According to industry sources on April 9, the number of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus pre-sale exceeded 550,000 units (preliminary) within two days of April 7 ~ 8. This is 5.5 times more than previous Galaxy S7. In particular, the Galaxy Note 7 record, which had recorded the highest sales of 400,000 units in about two weeks in August last year, has changed in just two days.

As a result of looking around the mobile phone stores of Jongno-gu, Jung-gu and Mapo-gu in Seoul on April 7 ~ 8, consumers`` interest in the Galaxy S8 was very hot. Most of the consumers in their 20s and 30s who came to the dealership stores were inquiring about the Galaxy S8. On the first day of pre-sale, the applicant rushed to the website on April 7, the first day of the online sale, and the LG Uplus homepage once suffered a disability.

A representative at a Jongno-gu mobile phone dealership shop said, ‘The number of visitors is increasing day by day, so it``s busy all day.’ A representative of a mobile phone dealership shop in Myeong-gu, Myeong-dong also said, ‘The pre sale price tends to lead to the actual purchase rate than in the past, and the number of users waiting for the Gal8 S8 is expecting as much as possible.’

The same is true for the S8 pre-sale, as the demand for premium smartphones has accumulated for a considerable period of time since Galaxy Note7 problem in last year``s ending. Although LG Electronics`` strategic smartphone G6 was released on March 10, the performance was not in line with expectations. A representative from the Mapo-gu office said, ‘80-90% of consumers who visited Yesterday (April 7 ~ 8) wanted Galaxy S8.’

The most popular colors in the current Galaxy S8 preview are ``Orchid Gray`` and ``Midnight Black`` colors. The popularity of the 128 GB Galaxy S8 Plus model, which has a stock price of KRW 1,155,000, is higher than expected.

However, during the last weekend of the Galaxy S8 pre-sale, the mobile number transfer market was quiet. According to the mobile phone industry, number transfer was 10,152 on the April 7 and 14,539 on April 8. Considering that the average number of days transfered to 13,000 units per day in recent days, and it was the weekend, which is somewhat reduced figure. However, this is because smartphone replacement demand is focused on Galaxy S8 pre-sale. The preliminary quantity is reflected in the market indexes (new subscription, number movement and device change) after April 18 from the start of pre-sale.

The Galaxy S8 success is expected to serve as a relief pitcher for Samsung Electronics`` performance. In the securities industry, Samsung Electronics estimates that the IM (IT & mobile) division recorded sales of KRW 22.8 trillion and operating profit of KRW 2.3 trillion in the first quarter. That``s down from an operating profit of KRW 3.89 trillion in the same period last year, but it is an evaluation that the company saved the Galaxy Note 7 discontinuity.

The Galaxy S8 will be officially launched on April 21. The volume of pre-sale can be used as of April 18. The price of the Galaxy S8 is KRW 935,000 and that of the Galaxy S8 plus is KRW 999,000. The high-end Galaxy S8 Plus with 128GB capacity is priced at KRW 1,155,000. According to the fare plan, the three companies will provide the Galaxy S8 with a grant of KRW 69,000 to KRW 264,000. The securities industry and market research firms expect the Galaxy S8 sales volume to reach KRW 43 million to KRW 60 million units this year.
