It has been known that China has suspended Hallyu videos on internet after suspension of Hallyu entertainer involved program broadcasting as revenge to Theater of High Altitude Area Defense Missile (THAAD) deployment in Korean peninsula.

It seems China is going to block Hallyu contents as Korean dramas such as ¡®Guardian: The lonely and great god¡¯ and variety shows have been getting popular through Chinese video share site Youku.

According to sources in China on February 26, an account called "Phoenix Enthusiast TSKS Pole Temple", famous for having many Korean drama followers, revealed that the update of the Hallyu program was suspended from February 24 through Waybo (Chinese version twitter).

The Weibo announced that ¡®Each video website will stop updating all the Hallyu programs for the time being for the reason which everyone knows why.¡¯

As a result, current Korean entertainment programs and dramas such as ``Running Man`` can be seen only 2016 versions in the video sites of China such as Youku. New versions of Korean programs have been blocked.

The Korean drama ``Uncontrollably fond¡¯ is said to have exceeded the cumulative total of 4.1 billion view in last year through Youku site. It does not leg behind to the accumulated number of views (4.44 billion) of ¡®Descendents of the sun`` that hit the top in China in the first half of last year. However, if China continues to suspend updating Korean programs, the standing position of the Hallyu seems to be narrower.

China has also begun work on eliminating Korean features from Chinese entertainment programs. A Chinese broadcasting program ``Run brother,`` which was the same program as ¡®Running man¡¯ has been changed to ``Run``, as it entered season 5. Another Chinese broadcasting program which was in the same concept as Korean ¡®I am a singer¡¯ has also changed its program title to ¡®Singer¡¯.

Besides, China is said to have issued oral order to suspend co-produce and cooperative broadcasting program with Korea. China``s sanctions on South Korean programs are being tightened.
