It has been analyzed that ¡®enterprises should attract information security related skilled manpower as top priority¡¯ in recruitment process.

According to market research firm-Gartner¡¯s ¡®Adjust traditional recruitment method to information security method¡¯ report on February 21, enterprises will go through difficulties to find information security related manpower for at least further 3 years.

Gartner stated that information security professionals¡¯ unemployment is 0% and it is causing intense competition for enterprises to attract skilled information security professionals in IT market.

Regardless of the investment in information security infrastructures around the world, the value of professional workers is rising. Information security industry has spent in the world``s corporate IT budgets last year was 5.9 %, down from 6.1 % in 2014, but the average salary for information security workers skyrocketed. Average salary growth rate of corporate information security was 22.3% from 2013 to 2016.

According to a survey released by Intel Security last year, 71 % of those surveyed said organizations that are experiencing a shortage of security personnel will be directly targeted by hackers. According to the US Department of Labor statistics, there were about 200,000 new information security jobs in 2015, and by 2018 demand for information security professionals is expected to increase by 53%.

Vince Warrington- the president of Protective Intelligence said in an interview with UK media Liverpool Echo that ¡®By 2022, there will be a shortage of 1.8 million professional information security personnel globally.¡¯ and he added that ¡®IT majors want to learn about information to secure their job¡¯.

Situation in Korea is also the same. According to the ``Report on Corporate Information Protection Issues in 2017`` released by the Korea Consortium of Computer Emergency Response Team (CONCERT) on the February 16, ``lack of manpower`` was a major concern of corporate security officers. In particular, it is remarkable that the large-scale security management and consulting firms in the large-scale enterprises employing experienced workers are often neglected. An enterprise security officer said that ¡®If we take a new employee and train it, our competitor scouts trained professional directly.¡¯ ¡®This has been repeated several times and I repeat that we need information security manpower.¡¯ He added.

Executive director of CONCERT -Shim Sang Hyun mentioned that ¡®Companies now want people who can cover security in areas represented by machine learning, IoT, etc. rather than simply security personnel.¡¯ He also added that ¡®Changing job is another problem in the situation of lack of information security professional¡¯.
