According to the industry on April 24, Naver recently installed thousands of x86 servers and network equipment from Huawei and installed it mostly in Pusan Internet Data Center (IDC). In addition, China introduced a number of in-plant equipment, distributed to domestic IDC.

The problem is that Huawei equipment is being attacked by Chinese hackers, and the risk of leakage of important information is publicly known, and the US and India are taking measures such as prohibiting the introduction of such information. Experts point out that if Huawei equipment occupies Naver`s `courtyard`, which is actually a `national portal` in this situation, it is hard to be 100% sure of safety.

Naver, which announced its plan to establish Yongin IDC last year, has domestic IDC in Chuncheon, Pyeongchon and Gasan. Chuncheon IDC is mainly used for Naver internal and individual user service. PyeongChon IDC received cloud security certification from the government in February last year and is used for cloud service to national and public institutions. It is interpreted that Naver introduced Huawei equipment with good causticity to enhance the price competitiveness of cloud service.

Currently, the US government is banning Huawei and ZTE equipment due to national security concerns. The regulations on Chinese equipment are being reinforced. It is the US government`s concern that back doors (back doors) are installed on Chinese equipment, so that personal information and national secrets of the US can flow into China. In February this year, the US Senate initiated a bill to prevent Huawei or ZTE from purchasing or leasing telecommunications equipment.
