The working hours of 300 or more employees have been reduced to 52 hours a week including 12 hours of extended work since July. It is necessary to prepare the countermeasures because the workforce to change the task, to operate the demonstration, and to work on the inspection work more than 52 hours per week due to the nature of the software (SW) and system integration (SI) business.

According to industry sources on Tuesday, the SW Industry Association has launched an emergency survey of its member companies to gather opinions on shortening working hours. The IT Service Industry Association has also started to identify the working conditions of more than 300 IT service companies in order to prepare related measures. The IT industry is approaching the implementation of the system right away, but there are no detailed guidelines, each project has different circumstances, and unexpected situations such as sudden system failure cannot be ruled out.

The IT industry is hard to predict what will happen on dozens or even hundreds of sites per company, and it is not easy to manage the scattered workers perfectly.

Meanwhile, IT service companies such as Samsung SDS, LG CNS, C & C of SK Corporation should conclude contracts with the customer, KA, due to the nature of the business. However, during the project development process, the client has to change the task or request additional development to the operator at random without paying the fee, so that nighttime and weekend work are inevitable. In particular, 24 hour work is inevitable in order to check whether the system is operating properly before trial operation or formal service.

"One or two months ago, the project manager (PM) of a major corporation said," This is the most demanding period of the customer. At this time, the workload and night time are increased. In order to meet 52 hours a week, "It takes at least twice as long to open the door as it takes up the costs of actual development, and it raises costs. I wonder if the customer can accept it." Another PM says, "Predictable infrastructure. In the case of network failures, fast failover is the lifeblood for customer service. It can happen because the 52-hour workweek is not able to do the recovery work, usually at night and on the weekend."

On the other hand, the Ministry of Information and Communication announced that the revision bill will be submitted to the National Assembly by the end of the year. However, the revised bill will be submitted to the National Assembly by the end of the year.

As IT service companies are not easy to comply with the current 68-hour working hours, they are operating a flexible work system that reduces working days and hours based on selective work arrangements or workloads that adjust the time of departure and leave. However, when the 52 hours a week is implemented, it seems difficult to comply with the statutory working hours even if the elective and flexible working hours are implemented. The personnel and labor team of each company has an emergency, but it is a problem that it is hard to be kept at each workplace even if the company establishes its own working rules and system.

"An employee of a large IT service company said," In the meantime, we have kept the legal working hours with vacation or flexible work system, but it is expected to be difficult in the outside business from July. "If the client does not proceed with the business reflecting the changed working time, "He said.

An IT Service Association expert stated, "Although the government is telling us to hire a large number of people, the cost of the company is increasing due to the increase in costs." It is unknown whether the client will reflect the changed legal working hours in the proposal. It is expected to be difficult to operate in the field."

The SW Industry Association plans to propose measures to the government after surveying member companies, especially in the case of short-term projects within three months that it is difficult to comply with legal working hours.

An another expert from the SW Industry Association said, "If the system is nearing the opening, it is necessary for the client to make various demands and work at the weekend. Inevitably, it is necessary to improve the perception of the client." After investigating the opinions of the members, It is planned. "
