LGD to have gotten confirmation to build OLED factory in China… “We will invest in equipment”

The Korean government has conditionally approved LG Display`s investment in constructing an 8.5G OLED plant in Guangzhou, China.
The government has decided to invest in next-generation facilities, to increase the localization rate of OLED materials and equipment, and to strengthen the security organization to prevent technology leakage. LG Display promised that the next facility investment will be made in Korea unconditionally.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy announced on December 26 that it decided to open the industrial technology protection committee and conditionally approve export of LG Display`s TV OLED panel manufacturing technology.
The Ministry of Industry and Technology said that it approved exports in view of the expansion of the market and the positive effects of exporting and job creation of related suppliers.
However, the next investment will be made domestically, and LGD`s OLED material localization rate should be 60% and the localization rate of manufacturing equipment should be increased by 30%. The ministry also asked for local security inspections to prevent leakage of technology, strengthening security organizations, building technology leakage prevention systems, and strengthening people management.
In response, LG Display promised to fulfill all the conditions for protection such as the next domestic investment.
The government asked LG Display to approve the export of its OLED manufacturing technology in July, followed by two display committees in the past five months.
Baek Woon-kyu, the minister of industry and industry, stated, "In the face of international display technology competition intensifying, the decision to protect the industrial technology will provide detailed protection of technology and promote the national interest such as sales and job creation. I hope it will be an opportunity to be able to."
Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry and Technology Protection designated five new national core technologies such as three in the field of information and communication, and one in the steel and automobile fields. △ MM wave-based 5G mobile wireless backhaul core design technology in telecommunication sector △ Tera-class fiber optic line ∙ Packet integrated switching system and 400 gigabit field ∙ Short-distance optical transmission and reception transceiver technology △ Quantum theory-based quantum applied to communication equipment Repeater technology, control technology of artificial intelligence super precision plating (resolution 0.1 ㎛ class) in steel field, △ automobile core parts, system design and manufacturing technology (only for camera system, radar system and rider system) Technology.
Besides, the Ministry of Industry has said that the technology has been patented and the risk of leakage of technology is low due to the export of manufacturing technology of finet.
