Hancum and EBS will build `AI based one-to-one learning tutoring system`. This system is the key to AI`s personalized program.

According to the Korea Online EProcurement System of the Public Procurement Service on June 22, the Korea Education and Broadcasting Corporation (EBS) will select a development company, Hancum Communicaiton, a subsidiary of Hancum, to build an AI learning service platform from this month to early next year. Hancum is expected to be the preferred operator of this project and will sign a contract with EBS next week.

The project is to develop a service platform for learners, teachers, and operators to provide one-to-one tutoring services. One-to-one cyber tutors are assigned to high school students and re-learners through learning disposition and level assessment. Intelligent learning management and personalized content and learning Q & A services are provided for the whole learning process. It is constructed by organically linking with the system of contents management system, learning management system (LMS) and diagnosis coaching etc. of the current EBS SAT.

The character-based tutor with personality provides learning management based on learners` learning tendency and achievement. The EBS aims to prevent student abandonment by enhancing the effectiveness of online learning by building the system. First, a content system and a learning model for high school mathematics courses are developed and courses are gradually expanded. It is especially developed for high school students to infer lower-level school or grade-level units that need to learn to understand the unit when the concept or applicability of the particular unit falls.

Meanwhile a mobile Chatbot system is introduced to utilize the platform. If we ask questions via text or smartphone shooting, Chatbot can automatically reply in chat format. If the chatbot cannot provide a proper answer to the learner£¿s question or if the learner does not understand it, he/she will send a question to the teacher of the EBS SAT so that he can get a reply within 24 hours.

More than 60% of all high school students in the EBS currently use the EBS SAT service, and one-on-one tutoring is expected to be available for about 10% of the EBS SAT students. An EBS representative said, "We expect that the future model of EBS education service through this project, will be reorganized into one-to-one personalized services such as the lectures of the SAT, and it will complement the public education by eliminating the income gap in education."
