¡°Grab clients¡¯ trend¡±¡¦ Department story busy for store renewal

Department stores are trying to attract more famous restaurants and strengthen their lifestyle by reflecting the enthusiasm of home furnishings.

According to the distribution industry on March 19, Hyundai Department Store has been restructuring its aged stores by reorganizing the Cheonho Food Store, Kid`s House, and Living Hall in Seoul from October last year. On the 20th of this month, the 1st floor, 9th floor and 11th floor of Chungho Store will be newly renovated and opened. In addition to existing cosmetics, a fashion accessories store will be on the first floor. On the 9th floor, there is a porter liban kids store called `Potter Livan` which is a living brand of Williams` Norma imported from Hyundai Livat. On the 11th floor, `EightSeons` will be added to the existing `UNIQLO` to expand the SPA clothing brand, and to show the customer service lounge and cultural center. In the middle of next month, the 12-story restaurant will be overhauled and the restaurant will be open for business. Hyundai Department Store widened its food space (1,700 pyeong) in Ilsan KINTEX store by 2.5 times earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Lotte Department Store is making efforts to create customized grocery stores for each store. In recent years, the food shop in Gangnam, Seoul has been completely reorganized to show the `Food Lounge`. Considering that there are many teenagers and parents in the 40s and 50s in Gangnam area, it features a special food corner for each age group. First, it showed food truck zone aimed at teenagers and attracted famous restaurants of Jeju, Seoul Hongik University and Itaewon in SNS. In the 40s and 50s, stores selling desserts cooked directly on the spot were introduced. Last year, Lotte Department Store opened an open dining zone, which was a collection of domestic restaurants with a concept of pub at Jamsil store last year.

Shinsegae Department Store is also concentrating on strengthening food and living facilities. Earlier this year, 11 new restaurants were added to FamiEstations, Gangnam`s popular restaurants, including Hongik University and Itaewon. Famie Station is close to high-speed bus terminal and subway station, so there is a large population of people, and the proportion of people in their 20s and 30s is overwhelming, so they have increased popular restaurants in these generations. In particular, the Busan Centum City store strengthened its local restaurants at the end of last year and opened a new life branch `Shinsegae Home` in the living room to two floors, and set out to catch up with the demand for home furnishing.

An industry expert said, "While department stores are stalled, they are constantly attracting customers to attract consumers who are familiar with online shopping." Consumers are expecting a linking effect of shopping after shopping at department store restaurants. The brand is also diversified.¡±
