[Digital Times, Kim Soo-yeon] According to the Korea Game Commission, the YouTube and Google blogs recorded the largest number of Internet pages on illegal gaming articles last year. Google is being used as a promotional window for illegal games.

According to the Game Management Committee on January 14, the committee reported 4443 illegal game posts on internet pages, with 37.3 % of YouTube and Google blogs operated by Google last year.

Illegal games mean illegal programs such as illegal private servers operated without service rights, `auto programs` that abnormally increase experience in games, and `nuclear`, which informs the other party`s location. What the gaming authorities have caught is that these illegal games are posted directly on the Internet pages or posted on the website.

Last year, the largest number of illegal game related posts was found on YouTube and Google blogs after 2016.

A total of 1,659 posts have been posted on YouTube and Google blogs for illegal games last year. The next cafe blog post was followed by 829. The total number of these sites was 37.3% and 18.7%, respectively. The number of posts caught on blogs at Naver Café was 3.5%.

Especially, last year, the number of cafes and blogs increased by 28.5% from 2016, while Google blogs, YouTube and Naver cafes and blogs decreased by 2.3% and 29%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Google Blog and YouTube, private server related posts decreased by 13.3%, and illegal program related posts increased by 12.6 times. The following cafes and blogs have reported a decrease in the number of illegal program-related posts by one-third, but the number of illegal private server-related posts has increased by 2.1 times.

According to a gaming expert, "Most of illegal game posts were posts selling accounts necessary to use illegal programs." Currently, the committee has decided to block the sites where illegal games are directly posted according to the law on the promotion of game industry. "We are asking for cooperation with an Internet service provider regarding illegal game promotion posts."

The Gaming Committee is considering introducing to the National Assembly and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to revise relevant laws so that promotional posts on illegal games can be included in administrative measures.
